Thus, we need duly prepared missionaries for Canada and Europe; patient men who are capable of enduring the most arduous disciplines; friends of culture, true aspirants to Pure Science.
We want our missionaries to have an artistic feeling, to love Science, Philosophy and Mysticism; to vibrate delightfully with the Corinthian columns of Greece, the lover of Beauty; to feel in their hearts the mysticism of a Francis of Assisi, and to truly yearn for the wisdom of Egypt.
We want missionaries in whom the beauty of the Spirit and the force of Love truly shine forth. Missionaries who, just as they are scientists, are also poets; who may investigate the atom and stop to meditate upon the singing stream that glides between its bed of rocks.
Missionaries who are capable of meditating at the foot of the ruins of Athens or ancient Rome; missionaries who know how to admire the chisel of Praxiteles.
Missionaries who know how to truly love all of humanity.
Missionaries who vibrate with the Lyre of Orpheus, and who sing with Homer in the delightful land of the Hellenes…
That is the kind of missionaries we yearn for!
Missionaries who can admire the twinkling of the stars.
Missionaries who are in love with the pure nights.
Missionaries who have an adorable beloved, and may that beloved be called Urania…
That is the kind of missionaries we desire!
Missionaries who can clothe themselves with the tunic of sanctity.
Missionaries who want to lay the carpet at the feet of the Guru, to receive his wise precepts.
Missionaries who yearn for profound Christification, and who truly feel the beauty of Love, just as Brother Francis felt it in his heart…
Missionaries such as these are the ones we need!
Away from us anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, sloth, gluttony!
Away from us the thorn that wounds the flesh!
Away from us the tares of murmuring and calumny!
Away from us the nauseating poison of envy!
Away from us the monster of lust!
We want missionaries who, with the slow and gentle step of the great hermits, go from door to door preaching the word…
That is the kind of missionaries we want!
In no way do we desire to make of Gnosis a business…
Away with finances in Universal Gnosticism!
We want only one thing: To deeply Love humanity!
