To all the Gnostic brothers and sisters of Zulia, Venezuela, my greetings go: Inverential Peace! Dear Gnostic brothers, we have felt great pleasure with the visit of the brothers who have visited us here in these days. Certainly, we remember Zulia with immense affection; obviously Zulia, then, is a very beautiful region in itself…
We are very interested in each of our brothers and sisters being concerned, first of all, with obtaining a radical, absolute change of themselves. CHANGE IS THE FUNDAMENTAL THING, but it is not possible, truly, to change, in the fullest sense of the word, if one does not observe oneself.
Practical life is the PSYCHOLOGICAL GYM where we can DISCOVER OURSELVES; in relation to our fellow men, whether at home or on the street, or at school, or in the Temple, in the factory, in the office, etc., if we are in constant self-observation, we discover ourselves.
I know that in any circumstance of life, the psychological defects that we carry hidden there, deep inside ourselves, come to the surface. If one does not observe them, one cannot self-discover them either; but if one is in constant psychological self-observation, from moment to moment, then these defects can be discovered.
They emerge in such a natural way, so spontaneous, that it is really not difficult to discover them if we are in the State of Alert-Perception, Alertness-Novelty.
We have to divide ourselves into OBSERVER AND OBSERVED: One part that observes and another part that is observed. When one divides oneself into observer and observed, one can simply verify, in a direct way, the crude reality of that defect that one carries hidden; but it must, above all, be divided into observer and observed…
Each of our psychological defects, undoubtedly, is personified by some I. In the ancient Mysteries of Egypt there was talk of the “DEMONS OF SETH”; these represent, of course, our SEVEN DEADLY SINS. Virgil, the Poet of Mantua, said: “Even if we had a thousand tongues to speak of and a palate of steel, we would not be able to enumerate them all completely”…
All these defects that we have are personified by tempting Demons, the Biblical Demons, the Demons mentioned in the ancient texts: Kabbalah, Magic, etc.; they are true selves, and each of them has his own “mind” and his own “will.”
Thus we, in the name of Truth, must affirm that we have many minds and many wills; if we do not possess a single Self, we obviously have to have many minds, many “I’s.” Each “I” has its “mind,” and each “I” is endowed with “will” and desire; each “I” is like a person within us, and if we have many “I’s”, there are many people living within us.
Thus, WITHIN OUR PERSON THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE (now we will explain why we do not possess an authentic individuality). We are full of TERRIBLE CONTRADICTIONS:
The “I” that today swears eternal love to a woman is later displaced by another “I” that “has no candles at the funeral”; Then, when this happens, the subject withdraws and the woman is bewildered, disappointed.
So no one has, let’s say, CONTINUITY OF PURPOSE (it is not possible because we have a multiplicity of “I’s” within ourselves). This is the “DOCTRINE OF THE MANY,” which is well worth studying and understanding. In Tibet it has been duly understood, and these “I’s” in the Tibetan East are referred to as “psychic aggregates”…
Now, between these aggregates or “I’s” there is no harmony or concordance whatsoever: they quarrel with each other, they fight for supremacy; when one of them dominates, he believes himself to be the master, the only one, but is later displaced by another. So that is the struggle within themselves; Now we will explain, I repeat, why we are so full, each one of us, of so many contradictions.
There is “The Doctrine of the Many”, and our brothers in Zulia must become familiar with this Body of Doctrine.
Unfortunately, Consciousness (which is the most dignified thing that we all have inside us), is engrossed, embedded within each of those “I’s” or Persons that live within our person… Since these “I’s” or Intimate Persons that we carry within us are one hundred percent subjective, naturally our Consciousness is functioning by virtue of its own conditioning; that is, it has become subjective, it is asleep.
If we crush any of these “I’s”, we release a certain percentage of Consciousness, and if we disintegrate by one hundred percent the totality of all the “I’s” that we carry within us, the Consciousness will be absolutely AWAKENED.
And an absolutely awakened Consciousness is a Consciousness that can see, hear, touch and touch the great realities of the Higher Worlds; a fully awakened Consciousness is a Consciousness that knows directly the Mysteries of Life and Death…
I consider it vital, my dear brothers and sisters of Zulia, that you, all of you, be concerned about THE AWAKENING OF CONSCIOUSNESS; and you would not achieve that if you did not annihilate all those people who live within each one of you…
It is necessary to learn to OBSERVE THESE SELVES in action. Let us have the case that you feel love for a person of the opposite sex; pay attention to see what happens in your mind, and what also happens IN THE EMOTIONAL, MOTOR, INSTINCTIVE AND SEXUAL CENTERS; learn to observe the “I’s” in the Intellectual Center, in the Emotional Center, and in the Motor-Instinctive-Sexual Center…
Watch them! It may happen that you consider that you are in love with a person of the opposite sex, and surely you are not in love, what happens is that you are sexually passionate.
If one pays some attention, one can discover how any “I” of lust can manifest itself in the heart as love, feeling; in the head as more or less morbid images, or ideals; but in sex such an ego is discovered, because it manifests its vibration, and then it indicates to us that we are not really in love, but passionate, that it is completely different (animal passion is something disgusting, morbid, dirty).
Continuing with this analysis, having discovered any “I”, let’s put an “I” of lust, because then we will have to JUDGE it, criticize it, analyze it; appeal to the scalpel of self-criticism, to open it to see what it really has, and once we have FULLY UNDERSTOOD it (an indispensable function for the emancipation of Consciousness), then we will have to DISINTEGRATE it, annihilate it.
To this end, it is urgent to appeal to a Power that is superior to the mind; fortunately, that Power exists; I want to refer, emphatically, to the POWER OF THE DIVINE MOTHER KUNDALINI, the igneous serpent of our magical powers.
The mind, by itself, cannot fundamentally alter any defect; she can label it with different names, pass it from one Department to another, hide it from herself or from others, but she could never alter it definitively.
A Power is needed that is superior to the mind, that is capable of disintegrating any psychological defect; that Power exists within any living organism, it is a FOHATIC, individual POWER; I am referring to the Serpentine, Annular Power that develops in the Spinal Cord of the ascetic; if we appeal to that Power, we can disintegrate any I, any defect; this Power is personified by the Divine Mother Kundalini: Isis, Adonia, Rhea, Cybele, Ram-Io, Diana, Tonantzin, Mary…
If we call upon her with purity of heart, if we call upon her, she will come; it will be able to eliminate from our psyche, that “I” that we have understood, that we have fundamentally understood…
… and if we proceed in this way, you can be absolutely sure that such an “I” will be disintegrated, annihilated, reduced to cosmic dust…
In other words, the first thing that is needed is to observe the defect to discover it; second, to judge it analytically; third, to disintegrate it, reduce it to dust.
There, then, we have the three phases that can lead us to the disintegration of any “I”… First of all, I repeat: Observation; second, Judgment, and third, Annihilation. In war, spies are first discovered, then prosecuted and third, taken to the firing squad; in a similar way one has to proceed with the “I’s”, and by disintegrating them, pulverizing them, the Consciousness will emancipate itself.
If we manage to disintegrate the “I’s” in their totality, the Consciousness in its totality will undoubtedly awaken, and that is exactly what is needed to be able to KNOW, EXPERIENCE, FEEL THE TRUTH. Jesus the Christ said, “Know ye the truth, and it shall set you free.”
Truth has nothing to do with beliefs, with what someone believes or does not believe; with theories, with the ideas that one has about it; with opinions, with the concepts that one can forge, with preconceptions, etc. Truth is the unknown from instant to instant, and it must be experienced directly; Only those who come to know it for themselves can truly emancipate themselves.
The Truth has nothing to do with any School, Sect, Order, etc.; when the BUDDHA was asked “what is Truth”, he turned his back and withdrew; when JESUS THE CHRIST was asked “what is the Truth”, he kept a respectful silence.
So, see how these two personages answered that question: Buddha turns his back, withdraws; Christ is silent. It is that the Truth can only be experienced by oneself, in a direct way…
Someone might say that “fire burns”; that is an a priori Truth, but it is another thing to experience it, to experience that Truth. To be able to experience it, you have to put your finger in the fire, know that it burns; then one says: “This is indeed the Truth, because I have experienced it”…
One might feel great joy in watching a sunset, or in contemplating the Sun at dawn, but then we could not transmit that Truth to another; No matter how estimable that other person was, we couldn’t make him feel the same way; that is something that everyone would have to experience directly, for themselves.
Therefore, keep in mind that the Truth must be DIRECTLY EXPERIENCED, and can only be experienced IN THE ABSENCE OF THE SELF, in the absence of the self, in the absence of the Ego.
As long as the Consciousness is engrossed in the Ego, it can know nothing of the Truth; he may have very beautiful opinions about the Truth, he may have beliefs, which he thinks are the Truth; he may have ideas about the Truth, concepts, but that is not the Truth…
One must pulverize the self, the self, the Ego, die in an absolute way, if one really wants to come to know what the Truth is; to experience it, but in a direct way, not because of what someone says or doesn’t tell you, because of what someone writes or doesn’t write…
For us, my dear brothers and sisters of Zulia, I believe that the fundamental thing is to discover the Truth; and one can never discover it outside oneself. He who does not find it WITHIN HIMSELF, will not find it in any country on Earth, anywhere in the Universe; but if he finds it within himself, he will find it everywhere. Truth comes to us WHEN THE SELF IS DEAD; SHE COMES, and that is her novelty…
Truth has nothing to do with the body, nor with the affections, nor with the mind; it is beyond the body, the affections and the mind.
By disintegrating the self, through the procedures indicated in this recorded tape, all our brothers will come to experience, one day, the Truth.
When one dissolves the Ego absolutely, one acquires Freedom, he comes to know what Freedom is. Before the Ego is dissolved, Consciousness is completely imprisoned, formally imprisoned, locked up in a horrible dungeon; that dungeon is the Ego. If one destroys the dungeon, which is the Ego, the Consciousness is free, and that is the fundamental thing: To put an end to those shackles that keep us prisoners inside the dungeon, prisoners; if we succeed, Consciousness is free.
A free Consciousness can experience the ILLUMINATING VOID, it can rush into that bottomless “Void” where the Light shines, and listen to the words of its Deep Inner God.
In that “Void”, there is no human creature, no one; there only the words of the Eternal are heard; but we must liberate Consciousness, emancipate it…
Much has been said about Liberty; how many heroes have fought for the Freedom of their peoples, but they do not know what Freedom is, because not even they are free! One does not come to know what FREEDOM is, until one succeeds in freeing one’s Consciousness, and one cannot free one’s Consciousness until one does not finish with the self, with the Self, with the self.
As long as this that is I, as long as this that is myself (“my person”, I), exists, I will not know what Freedom is; but if Consciousness succeeds in freeing itself from the self, if we reduce the Self to dust, if we pulverize it, Consciousness is free, and one comes to know what Freedom really is, a Freedom that knows no limits or shores, an endless Freedom, an ETERNAL FREEDOM; in that Freedom there is Happiness, an inexhaustible Happiness…
People do not know what HAPPINESS is; they confuse Happiness with pleasure, and there they are different. One can spend a few hours of pleasure; someone would enjoy a party and believe they were happy, but true Happiness does not exist in this world.
One does not come to know true Happiness until one succeeds in liberating one’s Consciousness; as long as Consciousness does not become free, one is not happy, and for Consciousness to become free, it is necessary to destroy the shackles that keep it imprisoned within the prison of pain; that prison is the self, the self, “my person”, “my own feelings”, “my desires”, “my own tormented mind”, “my worries”, “my hatreds”, “my lust”, “my selfishness”, “my envy”, “my resentments”; “myself”: “my own feelings”, “my own projects”, “my own desires”…
As long as one does not succeed in destroying “that” which is “myself”, my Consciousness will be imprisoned; but the day that this which “is me”, “myself”, is destroyed, then the Consciousness will be free, and will enjoy authentic Happiness, which has nothing to do with pleasure, which is opposed to pleasure.
Happiness is something that no one knows and that no one can describe The mind does not know what Happiness is; the mind could not recognize Happiness, since the mind has never known it.
How could we recognize something we have never known? If the mind has never known Happiness, how would it recognize it?
Happiness comes to us; It comes, in a natural way, when the self, the Self itself has died… Therefore, it is necessary to come to experience it, to experience it directly.
The concepts that there may be about Happiness vary infinitely, as do the concepts about Truth. But experiencing it is different, and the experience of Happiness is not of time: It is beyond the mind, the body and the affections. HAPPINESS IS OF BEING, and “the reason for being of Being is Being itself”…
The pleasures of the world are of no use, for they leave nothing but pain; After the satisfaction of desire, the only thing that remains is disenchantment. Titles, honors are of no use; theories are of no use in the world, the different schools, organizations or forms are of no use in the world; the only thing that is useful in life is to DIE, so that the Consciousness is emancipated and acquires “that” that is called “HAPPINESS”…
Happiness is inexhaustible (I repeat: It is not of Time). Is there a need to experience it? Yes; but to experience it, it is urgent to DIE RADICALLY, here and now.
So, my dear brothers and sisters of Zulia, I want you to listen well to this talk, I want you to take it to the bottom of your hearts. It would be useless for what I am recording here, on tape, for you, Zulian brothers, to remain exclusively in your intellect, or in your Personality; if that’s the case, my tape wouldn’t do them any good.
I need these words to reach more deeply: That they reach the Essence, that is, to the Consciousness, and this would only be possible, my dear Zulian brothers, if you put a little LOVE in these Teachings; if you do not love these Teachings, neither could the Teachings penetrate the depths of your hearts, reach your Consciousness…
We need our dear Zulian brothers, first of all, to LOVE THESE TEACHINGS; if they love them, they will not remain in their Personality alone; I repeat: they will reach the Essence.
And if in this existence you do not succeed in dissolving the totality of the self, of the myself, in any case the teaching will remain in the Consciousness, and in the future existence you will remember those Teachings and they will serve you to work on yourself again, to work with the purpose of achieving the so beloved Freedom…
How great is Freedom, how many people have sacrificed themselves for Freedom, how many battlefields have been bathed in the blood of martyrs, but how far away is Freedom for human beings!
The liberators of all the countries of the world themselves have not known Freedom. It is not possible to know it, because it is from within, it is not from outside; and it cannot be found anywhere, but within themselves.
When Consciousness manages, I repeat, to emancipate itself from that dungeon in which it is placed, and which is called “myself”, “myself”, it experiences Freedom, and enjoys true Happiness in God.
So, my dear brothers, I want you to become understanding, to reflect deeply on my words, to be more concerned about DYING IN YOURSELVES.
I see with pain, I feel much pain, knowing that the brothers of our Gnostic Movement care little about the death of myself; they have no interest in that, it seems that this type of Teaching does not attract them, and the Ego does not like any Doctrine that threatens its existence; the Ego wants to defend itself, self-defense is the property of the Ego. Now we will explain why many do not care about DYING IN THEMSELVES; the Ego is not attracted to “Death”, the Ego wants to live, whatever it takes, but to live…
Zulian brothers, here in Mexico, we esteem you very much, we remember you with immense affection, we hope that one day you will be here, with us, all those who want to.
We will have to celebrate a very extraordinary event, which I think you will attend. On the 27th, 28th, 29th of October we will have an event in Guadalajara. You are invited to it.
We plan to give some lectures; We will have some artistic ensembles for three days. We have mentioned such an event, we have called it “The Great Meeting of the Hermetic Culture,” because there, in that meeting of the Hermetic Culture, everyone will be able to converse amicably.
All will be received by us with great appreciation, with great affection; We call on all of you. I wish Zulian groups would be organized to come for that event.
This event is magnificent, since in it, there will be a true meeting of the Hermetic Culture.
The Event will be held, then, at the Hilton Hotel in the aforementioned city, on those days, do not forget: October 27, 28 and 29.
Of course, it would be preferable for our brothers to arrive here, the capital city of Mexico, around the 24th or 23rd, so that they can also participate here in our Rites, our salutations, our walks, either to the Pyramids, or to the Cacahuamilpa Grottoes, or to Chapultepec, etc.
Well, I have spoken for you, my dear brothers and sisters of Zulia. I have recorded this tape and I hope you will study it. Inverential Peace!
